Château Montrose is a leading estate of the Saint-Estèphe commune of the Médoc region in Bordeaux. It was ranked as a second growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, and is regarded as one of the very best properties at that level. The grand vin, composed largely of Cabernet Sauvignon with some Merlot, is typically deeply colored, powerful and firm when young, but has superb aging potential. The second wine is La Dame de Montrose; the third is Saint-Estèphe de Château Montrose.

A scent that speaks of granite cooled by a mountain stream, slate right after a cloudburst. Hints of black tea and sage, warmed by the summer sun and the mild salinity of an ocean breeze. All underpinned by round fruit flavors of blueberry and fig. While it is easy to become lost in the umami of smoked meats, iron minerality, and olive tapenade flavors, this wine carries itself with such a graceful elegance that those notes are seamlessly intertwined with huckleberry and plum. The tannins creep slowly, capturing you before you even realize they have appeared and then releasing into the complex flavors that rest in your mouth and nose long after your sip is over. Drink now through 2030.

A perfect balance is found between rich, dark pomegranate and cool, wet slate. Overthinker envelopes the mouth with a soft, luxurious texture, as Bartlett pears, blackberries, cucumber and the scent of a roasting pork loin play along your tongue and tickle your olfactory senses. Overthinker is the liquid snapshot of our estate, created each year from the original 2005 plantings that greet our visitors to the property. Deep and complex, this wine can be enjoyed young with an extended decant, or aged through 2030 to further develop the minerality resting below the plush fruit.

Pairings: Roasted cornish game hen, cumin-spiced grilled eggplant with tabouli, Beef Wellington, Pilota (basque region sheep and cow milk cheese).

Lemony richness on the nose, a struck-match character that falls with a lemon vanilla note. Toffee apple allure on the palate with chalky coolness and a savoury, nutty finish.

The rich Pinot Noir in this blend has softened sufficiently for the creamier Chardonnay to make its mark. Together, they have formed a Champagne that is certainly dry and crisp but has now opened up to offer ripe white fruits as well.

Made from 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay, this late-disgorged sparkler impresses in its structure and well-earned age. High toned in oyster shell and sea spray, it is complex and integrated, with nuanced layers of cherry, strawberry and rhubarb.

Blend: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 6% Malbec, and 1% Cabernet Franc from the Alexander Valley.

Aromas of blackberry, black cherry, vanilla, coffee and a touch of smoke. The Merlot adds some extra fruit flavor and helps smooth out the tannins while the other varieties add layers of complexity. Full body and a long cherry/cassis fruit finish. This would pair beautifully with a medium rare roast beef dinner.

The exceptional 2018 growing season produced a stunning expression of Napa Valley Cabernet, with alluring aromas of black Mission fig, black raspberry, and chocolate, as well as notes of sage, cardamom, crème brûlée, and anise. On the palate, flavors of elderberry, plum, blueberry, red licorice, and violet glide across silky tannins, with bright, balanced acidity contributing to a long, focused finish.

Caymus has a signature style that is dark in color, with rich fruit and ripe tannins - as approachable in youth as in maturity. Since its founding in 1972, Caymus has become renowned as a consistent leader in the production of Napa Valley Cabernet. Grapes for this wine are farmed in 8 of Napa's 16 sub-appellations, with diversification enabling us to make the best possible wine in a given year. Their Cabernet offers layered, lush aromas and flavors, including cocoa, cassis and ripe berries.

Ruby in color, the 2018 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has notes of cassis, caramel, juniper and pomegranate. Lifted and vibrant on the nose, this wine is fresh on the palate with a juicy, fruit-forward core. Its silky mouthfeel will provide drinking pleasure through 2044 given proper cellaring.

Blend: 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc

Shows a touch of dark earth out front, with a mix of smoldering tobacco, espresso crema and singed alder notes before the core of warmed plum and blackberry reduction flavors finally starts to unwind. Just a touch burly for a Margaux, but certainly lots to like here and ample range and length. Time will likely add that last bit of refinement.

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it features flamboyant black cherries, warm plums and black berries notes with touches of Indian spices, menthol, rose hip tea and red earth. Medium to full-bodied, firm and with a beautifully ripe texture, it is opulent, soft and seductive through the long, earth-laced finish.
